Glen Abbey was already onboard, and he is a local pro sound recordist on sets and in the field, so I leaned from the master! Previously, I’d only attended workshops on boom mic recording, but although I had several years of experience with recording bands and voice overs in the studio, location sound with a boom mic was new to me. I knew the fundamentals, but Glen quickly taught me some great tips, and between the Sennheiser and Octavia mics, we got great sound in incredibly hot and humid conditions.

 

It was a lot of fun, I learned a ton, and I hope to do more location sound work in the future.
