Dorothy Gale
Dorothy Gale's aunt, Emily (or Em for short), grew up during the dust
bowl in Kansas. She used to tell her niece tales about whirlwinds and
dustdevils ripping apart houses and families. Auntie Em was a great influence
in Dorothy's choice to pursue a career in the film industry. Although
she was hesitant, Em supported Dorothy through college and graduate school,
giving her niece whatever resources she needed to achieve her artistic
goals. In fact, Dorothy's talent was so evident that upon her birth, the
local doctor, Michael Jackson, was heard to say "A star is born!"
Dorothy's mother committed suicide and, according to filed reports, contacted
her from the dead. Dorothy claimed that the spirit of her mother clung
to her at every step and led her to the path of ultimate glory. Although
this affected her schooling, Dorothy soon graduated from Loyola with a
degree in communications. Naturally, she never wrote or phoned anyone
back home.
After graduation, Dorothy's uncle fell ill and could not tend to the
family farm in Kansas. Dorothy put aside all of her goals and assumed
responsibility, assisting her aunt in any way she could. It was there
that she met a scarecrow that was stupid enough to join her on her selfish
quest....
